Binghamton Police are investigating another homicide in the city. 24-year-old Tyquan Gumbs of Binghamton was shot dead behind a house on Fayette Street around 8:30pm Friday. Police say he was shot multiple times by an unidentified assailant just down the street from NYSEG Stadium while the Binghamton Rumble Ponies were playing. The incident is under investigation and no further information has been released. This was the second fatal shooting in a week in the city. Also Friday, police arrested 26-year-old Jihad Ray and charged him with killing Brandon Hernandez outside of an after-hours club on April 22. He was taken into custody without incident after the police SWAT team raided his residence around 3pm Friday. Ray is now charged with murder in the second degree and was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail after arraignment.
