AT&T has upgraded its wireless network in the Southern Tier. The company has now brought its 4G LTE technology to the Binghamton area. The new upgraded coverage area includes Binghamton along Routes 81 and 17, Johnson City, Endwell, Endicott, and the Binghamton University campus. Other areas in upstate New York have undergone similar upgrades, including the Ithaca, Syracuse, and Rochester areas. AT&T says the technology will provide mobile Internet speeds up to 10 times faster than previous wireless option for local smartphone and tablet users. AT&T has invested over $1.4 billion in New York in the past two years with its wireless coverage upgrades.
