This weekend was a big one for festivals around our area. The 55th Annual Binghamton Festival went all weekend long featuring arts, crafts, and live music on Court, Washington and State Streets.
In Whitney Point it was the 5th Annual Block Party on Saturday. Kolby Oakly performed as hundreds honored ‘superheroes’ as seen on tv. Firefighters played games with kids. Mayor Ryan Reynolds said the different themes each year keeps the block parties fresh and interesting.
Deposit held the 41st annual Lumberjack Festival, while 90 wineries came together in Watkins Glen with over 600 varieties of wine for the 21st annual Finger Lakes Wine Festival.
Last but not least, the Tioga Arts Council in partnership the Tioga County Master Gardeners Program of Cornell Cooperative Extension held En Plein Air sponsored by WEBO. The Sunday event in Draper Park drew talented artists and supporters for the 29th time to an outdoor show that turned the park into a gallery for the day, in front of the picturesque Susquehanna River. Arts Council Director Christina Di Stefano said the event is a nice way to introduce local people to local artists.
