A weekend fire has left a Binghamton family without a home. It happened around 12:30 Saturday morning at 15 Franklin Street. The Binghamton Fire Department says seven trucks responded to the second alarm fire. Neighbors say an older couple lived in the home and that both made it out safely. Binghamton Fire Department says the cause of the fire is still under investigation. The home suffered extensive water damage and the family cannot live there at present, but the fire department says the house isn’t a total loss.
