It took a brief foot chase, but a Binghamton man has been arrested after he was found to be in possession of multiple drugs. 28-year-old Shamel Bland was initially stopped by the Broome County Special Investigations Task Force on Thursday. After police apprehended him, he was found to be in possession of heroin and crack cocaine, along with over $200 in cash. He has been charged with criminal possession and attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance. During the foot chase, Bland attempted to discard the narcotics, which also led to a tampering with physical evidence charge. He was sent to the Broome County Jail.
