On June 6th in Broome County Court, James Agron, 30, of Binghamton was sentenced as a Second Felony Offender to consecutive state prison terms of two to four years for his March 17th conviction on Attempted Assault and Criminal Mischief charges.
In February, Agron physically assaulted his girlfriend while she was holding her eight month old child in her arms.
When the girlfriend tried to call the police, Agron seized and broke the cellphone she was using and attempted to strike the girlfriend with a metal object.
In addition to the felony convictions for the attempted assault and criminal mischief, Agron was convicted of Assault in the Third Degree, Menacing in the Second Degree, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.
He was sentenced to concurrent one year sentences for the five misdemeanor convictions.
