A man will serve five years for stabbing a woman on Isbell Street, according to the Broome County District Attorney’s Office. Elvin Hernandez of Binghamton pleaded guilty to assault in the first degree in Broome County Court on April 23rd. Hernandez admitted that on Feb. 5th, at an apartment at 24 Isbell St. in Binghamton, he attacked Joy Williams with a knife. She was listed in critical condition with cuts to her head, face and limbs. Hernandez was taken to the Broome County Jail. He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 26. According to the DA’s office, at that time, he will be sentenced to five years in prison and five years of post-release supervision.
