More than a dozen police departments across New York are getting thousands of dollars from the state, and Binghamton is among them. Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the state is awarding $13.1 million in grants under Operation Impact. Binghamton is set to receive about $380,000 for their department. The funding is an attempt to allow cities to enhance police patrols and increase investigations to target high-crime areas.
