Binghamton Detectives say that a girl named Rebecca Shackelton, who turns 15-years-old today, is missing– after a man believed to be her father posted about her disappearance on Facebook. In the Facebook post, the man claims Shackelton left a Binghamton group home with two other girls on June 7. Police will not issue an Amber Alert, he claims, because she is considered a “troubled child.” Detectives did not release any additional details last night. They said the Broome County Sheriff’s Department is handling the case. In the Facebook post, the man claims she may be in Columbia County, Otsego County or still in the Binghamton area.
