Broome County is set to auction off 17 foreclosed properties. Nine properties in the City of Binghamton and eight more scattered across the county will be made available to bidders today. The properties include residential, commercial, and manufacturing properties as well as some vacant lots, all sold as-is. Tax-foreclosure auctions are typically held in Broome County twice each year. Once a winning bid is made, the buyer pays the deed filing fee and the county legislature approves the sale. That process could be completed for these properties as soon as September.
