Kristen Luce from Coughlin & Gerhart LLP in Owego stopped by the WEBO Morning Show today to offer some legal advice. Today’s topic circled around the differences between estate executors and estate administrators. With executors appointed in a will, Luce touched on the importance of having a will, and the benefit of having an attorney involved with the will. One of the main reasons is that there can be contention between multiple parties when trying to determine an executor or administrator for the will. An estate executor is named in the will, while an administrator is determined after death for those without a will. Luce says that being able to choose the executor is just another reason to consider a will. Coughlin & Gerhart is located at 27-29 Lake Street in Owego, and they also have offices across the region in Binghamton, Ithaca, Bainbridge, Hancock, and Montrose.
