A blaze has caused serious damage to a home on Murray Street in Binghamton. About 30 firefighters from the Johnson City and Binghamton department’s responded to the call around 1:15 Saturday afternoon. Upon arrival, the Binghamton Fire Chief says they were told a woman might still be inside on the third floor. Crews battled through the thick smoke looking for the woman who was later found safe outside of the building. The Chief says there was heavy fire in the back of the building but says they had the fire under control in about 30 minutes. Fire officials say the fire is still under investigation. No one was injured. The Red Cross is assisting the families.
