A flight of honor will take off from Binghamton Airport on April 12th, thanks to one man’s generosity. Jeff Gural, the owner of Tioga Downs Casino, is sponsoring an Honor Flight trip for veterans to visit Washington D.C. The free trip will give 78 World War II, Korean War and terminally ill veterans the opportunity to travel to the capital, and Arlington, to visit the War Memorials, each accompanied by a family member. Gural said it’s important for the veterans to visit the Memorials while they still can. He says if the trip goes well, he is considering sponsoring more Honor Flights in the future, so that more vets will have the opportunity. Working with the Honor Flight Hubs and the Binghamton Regional Airport, Gural noted that the trip will be the first of its kind in the Twin Tiers.
