A teen believed to be a member of the street gang the Latin Kings was arrested Tuesday. The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force raided a first-floor apartment at 25 Berlin Street in Binghamton, arresting 18-year-old Gabriel Gonzalez as he attempted to flee out the back door. Gonzalez was founded to have a loaded, stolen .38 caliber revolver and a sawed-off 20-gauge shotgun. The police were called to the area in response to increasing gang violence, including gang-related shootings on both Crandall and Thorp streets in Binghamton recently. Gonzalez is being held by the Binghamton Police Department pending his arraignment in court. He’s being charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property.
