The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force, with the help of a marked Broome County Sheriff’s Unit, executed a marijuana search warrant which led to the arrest of a Binghamton man. Jeremy D. Button of Binghamton was arrested after police found 40 hydroponic marijuana plants at various growth stages in his basement. Police also found several pills of a controlled substance. The marijuana operation was easily accessible to a 10-year-old as well as a 3-year-old. Authorities notified the Department of Children and Family Services, whereupon the children were sent to a relative’s home. Button was arraigned in the Town of Dickinson Court and sent to the Broome County Jail.
