Binghamton City Mayor Rich David has announced the appointment of Daniel Eggleston as the new chief of the Binghamton Fire Department. Eggleston will take over after current Fire Chief Daniel Thomas serves his last day on April 9th. Eggleston became a firefighter with the Binghamton Fire Department in 1984, promoted to lieutenant in 1985, then captain in 2001. In 2004, he became the Binghamton Fire Marshall. His father was a Binghamton firefighter for 32 years.
