The New York State DOT has announced that construction work for the Prospect Mountain Construction project will require lane closures in the City of Binghamton. Starting on Tuesday, August 29th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Interstate 81 South/State Route 17 East will be reduced to one lane between Exit 5 (Front Street) and Broad Avenue for slope work. Also, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Interstate 81 North/State Route 17 West between Fairview Avenue and Exit 3 (Broad Avenue), the right two lanes will be closed for sign structure work. Work will be performed weather permitting.
