Three people were arrested Wednesday evening in an action by the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force and the Metro SWAT team. Police recovered a heroin/fentanyl mixture, 57 envelopes containing a suspected heroin/fentanyl mixture, a loaded pistol, crack cocaine, and knotted wraps and gelatin capsules of crack cocaine packaged for sale. The raid on the Lydia Street apartment in Binghamton resulted in felony charges on three individuals. 33-year-old Lee Kennedy of Brooklyn, 32-year-old Kevin Palmer of Brooklyn, and 18-year-old Zatara Byrd of the Bronx were arrested on multiple felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and felony Criminal Possession of a Weapon. All three defendants’ have been arraigned in the City of Binghamton Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail. Kennedy is also currently under the supervision of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision for a previous weapons charge.
