Broome County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men Thursday evening during a routine traffic stop in the Town of Chenango. A deputy pulled over a vehicle after he recognized the driver, 27-year-old David Wesser, of Endwell, and knew Wesser did not have a valid license. Upon investigation of Wesser’s vehicle, the deputy found Suboxone, a controlled substance. Wesser admitting to possessing the painkiller. During the investigation, Wesser’s passenger, 20-year-old Aasin Hassinger of Binghamton, gave a false name in hopes to hide an active warrant for his arrest for criminal trespass out of the City of Binghamton court. Both men were taken into custody, and Wesser was charged with misdemeanor counts of aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Hassinger was charged with false impersonation, along with possession of a controlled substance.
