The man facing attempted murder charges for a shooting over the weekend in Binghamton has now had those charges upgraded to second degree murder after the victim passed away today. Binghamton Police arrested 21-year-old Andre Lee at a home on Griswold Street. The Binghamton SWAT team searched the home and found Lee hiding in an attic crawl space. Shortly after 11 o’clock Friday night, police were called to a shooting near the Town & Country Apartments on Roberts Street. Police found 19-year-old Scott Wright Jr. with a gunshot wound to the stomach and he had to be taken to Wilson Hospital for emergency surgery. It’s now being reported that Wright succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Lee is accused of shooting Wright, and he is also accused of striking 19-year-old Seth West in the head with a glass bottle prior to the shooting. In addition to the second degree murder charge, Lee is facing one count of assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. He is currently being held in the Broome County jail. The investigation is ongoing.
