Whitney Point area residents have now seen an elusive alligator twice along the Tioughnioga River between Whitney Point and Lisle. It was first seen Saturday, and then again Monday morning. DEC crews were in the area Sunday trying to capture the alligator, but they couldn’t find it. They believe it could have been someone’s pet that grew too large and was released in the area sometime in the last month.Obviously, if you see it, don’t go near it. Just call the DEC as soon as possible.
