The Broome County Sheriff’s department has provided additional information on the death of an inmate in the Broome County Jail last Thursday. 70-year-old Erford Ellis died of a heart attack. He was given CPR, but he was not revived. Ellis was in jail for menacing and harassment. He was awaiting a court appearance.
