A nurse in Broome County has been arrested for endangering a nursing home resident and falsifying records. New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced that 34-year-old Tanya Johnson of Greene failed to follow nursing home policy at Good Shepherd Village in Endwell after a resident fell and injured himself and she also lied to the facility about what happened. Johnson was charged with falsifying business records in the first degree, endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person in the second degree, and willful violation of health laws. The incident is said to have taken place back in October. According to Schneiderman, the victim fell while being bathed by Johnson, suffering abrasions to his lower back and tailbone area. Johnson then allegedly filed a written statement saying no fall took place. The charges against Johnson carry a maximum sentence of up to four years in prison and five years of probation.
