Broome County Lawmakers will be looking at a possible ban on bath salts and similar substances in the county. The bill is being proposed by Legislator matt Pasquale of Endicott to the Public Safety and Emergency Services committee. If taken up by the full legislature and approved, it would prohibit the sale of bath salts, herbal incense and synthetic hallucinogens, punishable by a thousand dollar fine and a possible year long jail sentence. Similar laws have already been enacted in other counties of New York State including Tioga County, Madison, and Oswego.
