A man was hospitalized following a crash in the town of Union. The call came in just after 12:30 yesterday afternoon. The Broome County Sheriff’s Office said authorities believe it was a medical episode that caused the victim to crash. The man drove across Airport Road into an embankment near the intersection of Lower Stella Ireland and East Maine roads. Deputies said the victim was semi-conscious and moving when he was rescued. He was taken to Wilson Medical Center. The victim was a male in his 50s. New York State Police, Union Volunteer Emergency Squad and Choconut Center Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
