An Endicott man has been allowed to enter a pre-trial release program, instead of jail. A judge granted the release for 34-year-old Daniel Butash. He’s the man accused of slamming head-on into a Broome County Sheriff’s vehicle on Route 17, seriously injuring the deputy. Butash faces multiple felony counts as well as driving while intoxicated. The deputy, 32-year-old Kristy Botsford has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home. She suffered multiple fractures. Butash will be released on his own recognizance when he is discharged from the hospital.
