The historic Endicott-Johnson arch on Main Street in Johnson City is in need of repair. Village of Johnson City officials are currently working to secure grant money for the repairs which are currently estimated to cost about $400,000. Though decay is noticeable, the arch is said to pose no danger to motorists or pedestrians at this time. The arch was built in 1920 by Endicott-Johnson shoe factory employees. A nearly identical arch can be found down the same stretch of road in Endicott.
