There is a boil water advisory in effect for the Village of Endicott, and parts of West Corners and Endwell. The Endicott Water Department reported that the water system lost pressure at about 3:30AM on Sunday morning. When the distribution pipes and mains lose pressure it increases the chance that untreated water and harmful microbes could enter the system. If you live in the Village of Endicott, areas of Endwell and parts of West Corners, or are part of the Endicott Water District you are advised NOT TO DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills most bacteria and other organisms in the water.Repair of the line continues. A notice will be issued when the water is safe to drink. For more information please contact the Village of Endicott Water Department at (607)757-2445 or the Broome County Health Department at (607)778-2887.
