In the wake of the retirement of Endicott Interconnect’s CEO Jay McNamara, it’s been discovered that the company has 500 less employees than the last figure it released publicly. Endicott Interconnect, which is one of Broome County’s most significant employers after acquiring IBM’s former operations in Endicott, released in November of 2012 that it employed 1,100 workers. McNamara stated in a signed declaration before his retirement that the company now employs around 605 workers, 500 less than last reported. The company has remained quiet surrounding rumored layoffs over the past few months. Endicott Interconnect has managed to avoid filing for bankruptcy by restructuring efforts and agreements with nearly all of its vendors. McNamara has retired following almost 11 years of leading the company.
