An Endicott man is arrested after the Broome County Sheriff’s Office found him acting suspiciously in the neighborhood where a vehicle was broken into Thursday night. The sheriff’s office arrested 22-year-old Wesley Goodman of Endicott. Deputies were patrolling an Endwell neighborhood and found a vehicle parked on the street with its overhead dome light on and the door ajar. Authorities found Goodman walking down the street. Goodman provided a false name, had a flashlight in his possession and gave several stories for why he was out walking, according to the sheriff’s office. Goodman then led deputies on a foot chase but was caught and taken into custody. Deputies found loose change on Goodman. The sheriff’s office said he admitted to stealing from parked vehicles. Goodman is charged with using a fake name, petit larceny and obstructing governmental administration, all misdemeanors. He was arraigned in the Town of Union Court and taken to the Broome County Jail pending court action. The sheriff’s office is asking if anyone in the Endwell area finds that their vehicle was rummaged through Thursday night to call the office at 778-1911.
