An Endicott man has been arrested following an attempted rape and robbery investigation. Members of the Broome County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Futahi Hampton of Exchange Street in Endicott following an investigation Sunday night. The Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of 3 Delaware Avenue in the town of Union following a report from a woman that a man had both attempted to rape her and also stole her purse while she was walking home. A description of the man was released and Hampton was located a short time later at a convenience store in Endicott. He is being charged with attempted rape in the first degree, and robbery in the third degree, both felonies. Endicott Police assisted the Broome County Sheriffs in the investigation.
