A man was arrested one day after multiple agencies, including a SWAT team and the Endicott Bomb Squad, were called to his apartment for reports of an armed man
threatening to kill himself. Kyle Lenga is accused of tampering with physical evidence, which is a felony. The Broome County Sheriff’s Office said Lenga prevented them from locating a handgun he had in his possession, which sparked a standoff that lasted several hours on Glendale Drive Tuesday night. Lenga left the apartment before they arrived on scene. He was found early yesterday morning at a home in the village of Endicott. The sheriff’s office said it took several deputies to persuade Lenga to surrender. According to authorities, Lenga cannot legally possess a handgun in New York state. He was taken to the Broome County Jail without bail.
