A hole in the road opened up in Endwell on Saturday. According to the Broome County Highway Department, a hole opened on Taft Avenue near the intersection of Ford Road. One lane will be closed for some time as crews work on creating a detour for nearby residential streets. It’s unknown what caused the hole to open up, but the highway department believes it could be the result of deterioration of the underground storm sewer.
