One person is dead and another sent to the hospital following a traffic accident between a passenger vehicle and tractor trailer early this morning. The accident occurred at about 1:45am on Route 17 Eastbound in Windsor. The accident occurred when the tractor trailer struck a disabled Jeep which was parked on side of the road. Both the Jeep and tractor trailer ended up over an embankment off the roadway. The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to UHS Wilson Hospital for head injuries. Traffic on that stretch of highway was diverted for several hours as emergency personnel worked to clear the scene.
