The latest job report for the Binghamton region showed a decrease in jobs in November. Last month, jobs dropped by 200 to 84,200, the lowest number for the region since the Department of Labor adjusted its statistical survey back in 1990. Binghamton’s jobless rate in November was 7.1 percent, down from 8.1 percent a year ago, but still the second worst in the upstate region, ahead of only Elmira at 7.3 percent. The Ithaca region led the state with the lowest unemployment rate at 4.4 percent.
