Multiple police and fire agencies responded to a barn fire Tuesday night. The fire broke out around 5:30. Chenango Forks Fire Department, Whitney Point Fire Department, Harpursville Fire Department, Greene Fire Department, fire chief investigators, New York State Police, Broome County Sheriff’s Department, and other first responders were on the scene.Chenango Forks Fire Company Fire Chief David Perry says that 70 dairy cows were displaced from the farm located on 114 Knapp Hill Road.Perry says all of the cows made it out alive and area farmers are working together to transport them to other farms.Officials say the fire started in the middle of the barn, though the cause of the fire is still under investigation.No injuries were reported. Firefighters worked through the night to extinguish the blaze.
