The Broome County Sheriff’s Office has announced that a fugitive from justice was taken into custody on May 5th following a traffic stop. A car was pulled over for speeding on Interstate 88 in the Town of Fenton, and the driver of the vehicle was found to have a suspended license. Further investigation revealed that the passenger in the car, 36-year-old Amado Charles of Utica, was wanted for an armed robbery of over $20,000 in Allentown, Pennsylvania back in 2007. He was taken into custody, arraigned as a fugitive from justice, and sent to the Broome County jail while he awaits extradition proceedings.
