A Harpursville basketball player received a high honor when she was named the Class C co-player of the year in the state. Miranda Drummond shared the honor with McKenna Mayock of Randolph in Section 6. Drummond led the Hornets to three straight Section 4 titles and two state final four berths, finishing her career with just shy of 2,000 points, at 1,930. This past season she averaged over 26 points per game, 11 rebounds per game, and 4 assists per game. She has signed on to play her college ball at Division I St. Bonaventure. The all-state teams for Class A and Class AA will be released later in the week.
