A Johnson City church will be hosting a “Groceries for Guns” program this weekend. St. James Church on Main Street in Johnson City will be offering $50 grocery gift certificates from 9 to noon in their parking lot for any working handguns, rifles, and shotguns. $100 gift certificates will be given in exchange for assault rifles. All guns will be destroyed by the Broome County Sheriff’s Office.
