The 31st Annual Police Memorial Week began on Sunday, when dozens of people gathered at Sarah Jane Memorial Methodist Church in Johnson City to honor fallen police officers. Sunday evening, the non-denominational church was home to 35 candles each representing the life of one officer killed in the line of duty. There was a service held at the church, which was led by police chaplains and clergy members. This week will be dedicated to honoring fallen police officers in the Southern Tier, with a memorial breakfast this morning, and a golf tournament on Wednesday, along with displays at the Oakdale Mall from Thursday through Saturday.
