Johnson City Mayor Greg Deemie announced he will be running for another term. Deemie has been serving as mayor of Johnson City for the past year and a half. He was appointed to the position by the Village Board after Dennis Hannon resigned in 2012. If Deemie is elected, it would be his first full term as mayor. Deemie said there was no doubt about running for a full term. He said he wouldn’t have taken the job if he wasn’t planning on running for re-election. He said a lot of work still needs to get done to bring Johnson City back. If he wins, he said he will continue to focus on city code, blight, and economic revitalization of the area.
