A State Supreme Court judge will be hearing a petition to prevent a liquor store from opening in Johnson City. Owners at Oakdale Wine and Liquor on Harry L. Drive filed a petition against the opening of the new Wegman’s liquor store being built next to the grocery store. The petition argues that the addition of a large liquor store in an already congested market would hurt the seven other liquor stores within in a four-mile radius. The judge will be hearing the arguments next Wednesday, January 15th.
