A church treasurer allegedly stole funds to purchase personal items from local stores. 60-year-old Michael Hurd of Kirkwood has been charged with third-degree grand larceny after he is accused of taking over $3,000 from the Glen Aubrey Baptist Church in the Town of Nanticoke. According to police, he made 119 unauthorized purchases over the past six months, all of them groceries and personal items for his own use. He voluntarily turned himself in to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office.
