A week-long investigation into the writing of bad checks results in charges for a Kirkwood man. Tyrone Smith allegedly asked a friend to deposit a cashier’s check into a bank account, and the check turned out to be fictitious, leaving the friend in arrears with the bank. Smith then wrote a personal check against a closed account when later confronted about the lost money. He was arrested on several charges, including petit larceny, issuing a bad check, and third-degree forgery. He is set to reappear in the Town of Dickinson Court.
