The League of Women Voters of Broome & Tioga Counties hosted a discussion yesterday, focusing on the lack of affordable, quality local childcare. A panel of speakers said this dilemma is due to a shortage of new workers entering the child care field, as well as the overwhelming process caregivers have to undergo to become state licensed.
