Multiple crews were called to a second-alarm building fire in the town of Maine yesterday. Firefighters were called to 298 Flint Rd. just after 10 a.m. Smoke and flames could be seen coming from the roof of the building when crews arrived. Broome County fire investigators said the fire started in the attic of the two-family home. The fire was knocked down by 10:40 , and no injuries were reported. The East Maine Fire Department was the first to respond. Fire departments from Endwell, Maine, Prospect Terrace and Union Center all responded in mutual aid. Broome County fire investigators are looking into the cause.
