Johnson City’s Northside Pool will remain closed for the second straight year, and it’s unlikely the pool will ever open again. According to city officials, the pool would need to be gutted and have its pipes replaced if it were to be able to meet safety standards, and that could cost Johnson City as much as $300,000. That cost has been deemed not economically feasible, particularly with the decline in the number of swimmers the pool saw in its last few years of being open. The Spray Park and Floral Avenue pool are currently open.
