An Owego woman has pleaded guilty to grand larceny after she is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the boutique at which she was employed. 47-year-old Maria McGuane pleaded guilty in Tioga County Court to a felony count of third-degree grand larceny. McGuane admitted to stealing money from Impressions by Brianna, a boutique on Sherwood Drive in Endicott. McGuane was indicted back in November after allegedly stealing over $50,000 between September of 2006 and May of 2012. She is said to have purchased items at Staples office supply store for personal use, taken cash while making deposits for the business at Chemung Canal Bank, and also kept cash transactions rather than depositing them into the business’s account. McGuane had worked at the boutique since 1999 and was the office manager at the time of her initial arrest last year at the end of May. She is scheduled to be sentenced on May 19th.
