A widespread power outage in Broome and Tioga Counties is the second in less than a week. Just after 5:30PM yesterday, an equipment failure at a electric substation on Riverside Drive in Johnson City, left 7,400 NYSEG customers without power for about an hour. Law enforcement officers were seen throughout the area directing traffic, after several traffic lights were also affected by the outage. A power outage on Saturday left 3,000 customers without power and was also the result of an equipment failure.
