A resolution to keep the Broome County Mental Health Clinic open for another two years was defeated. The Broome County Legislature’s Health and Human Services committee did not pass the resolution, which was introduced by democrats in the legislature. Had the resolution passed, it would have been decided upon by the full legislature at a later meeting. The resolution was defeated Wednesday by a vote of 3-2. At this time, officials do not have a set date for when the facility will close. The clinic will remain open while its patients are moved to one of the area’s other providers.
